Well, finally, I've gotten around to gathering some links of note...that's a musical joke, kids.... so without further ado (not that there was any previous ado) I present for your continuing enjoyment....

DA LINKS!!

The Vail-Leavitt Music Hall - This rejuvenated jewel is located in downtown Riverhead - an 1881 second-story "opera house" which now serves as not-for-profit performance space for cultural and educational events. Our band performs here on a semi-regular basis!

The Resonator - What's what in the world of the banjo plunkin' preservationists - players, clubs, & gatherings.

Red Hot Jazz Archive - Early jazz history for everybody; comprehensive, including select sampled audio clips.

Banjos by Richelieu - Rick Tipple & company make some of the finest banjos available, including the Golden Eagle model which is my regular playing instrument.

The Resonator - What's what in the world of the banjo plunkin' preservationists - players, clubs, & gatherings.

Red Hot Jazz Archive - Early jazz history for everybody; comprehensive, including select sampled audio clips.

International Banjo Jazz Festival - This three-day festival in Duisburg, Germany features a premeir group of internationally acclaimed banjoists...this year including Eddy Davis, Cynthia Sayer, Steve DiBonaventura, Tom Stuip, Sean Moyses, Jurgen Kulus, and many others. For a taste of what you'll hear, check out their Live365 radio broadcast here!! Hear here!!

Lew Green - Cornetist extraordinaire & charter member of the legendary Salty Dogs jazz band. A jazz collection is incomplete without at least 2 or 3 recordings with his horn.

Vince Giordano - The oracle of trad, at least in my mind. You can find original charts available from him here. His knowledge of the music and it's history are astounding.

Dan Levinson - One of the best reed players around, his Roof Garden Jass Band accurately recapture the feel of the Original Dixieland Jass Band - the origins of recorded jazz. Peculiarly humorous fellow, too.

Jeff Barnhart - Simply the rompin' stompin'-est, exuberant and musical pianist I have ever heard. Every one of his recordings is great...but I admit that "I'll Be Seeing You" is one of my all-time favorites.

The Blues Collar Band - Featuring Crazy Helen, Bob Hovey, Joe Sferlazza, Ron Rothman, and other musical luminaries of eastern Long Island.

Jazz Banjo - Online magazine format; provides interviews, solo arrangements, and much more.

Wolverine Jazz Band - Superb band led by Dr. John Clark and featuring some of New England's finest keepers of the flame. Regularly featured at Massachusetts' Sherborn Inn, I heartily recommend their CD's "Wolverine Blues" and "Just Pretending".

Cynthia Sayer - A great friend & plectrum player. Her CD's are also must-haves, especially her recent "String Swing". Buy Cynthia's newest release...a multimedia masterpiece entitled "Souvenirs"...It's GREAT! For more, read my review in the March 2003 issue of The Resonator!!

4-String Banjo Museum - Located in Guthrie, OK. Buy the Roy Smeck-Wizard of the Strings video & support the cause while you enjoy this tribute to my old "hobsie pal".

The Great Connecticut JazzFest - From Dixie to Swing...the East Coast's Premier Jazz Event !!!!

Tim Allan - Canadian fretted instrument virtuoso; a fine person & good friend.

Riverwalk - National Public Radio program from San Antonio featuring Jim Cullum's Jazz Band.

Four-String Banjo Links - Masterwork of further linkage by Noel Induni. Bless you, Noel...

Just Banjos - Joan Dickerson is a kindred soul to me, another banjoist trapped in a computer science professor. She plays tasteful selections on 5-string in the "classic" style...a lady as lovely as her website!

The American Rag - America's largest trad jazz/ragtime newspaper; "News you can use..."

The Missisippi Rag - The voice of traditional jazz & ragtime.

Stay tuned....more to come....
